Benimon’s 27 points and 13 Rebounds Leads Towson to 80-68 Victory at Drexel

Towson senior Jerrelle Benimon registered his eighth straight double-double and classmate Marcus Damas tied his career-high with 26 points as the Tigers won at Drexel, 80-68, on Tuesday evening.

Towson (11-6, 2-0 CAA) won its fourth straight game overall and third straight against Drexel, which falls to 9-7 on the year and 1-2 in league play. The Tigers have won 10 of their last 11 CAA games dating back to last season.

Benimon scored over 20 points for the fifth straight game as the senior posted 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds and a game-high seven assists. The senior, who entered the game with two made three-pointers on the year, made both of his three-point attempts against the Dragons.
