Ravens to Meet with Michael Campanaro at the Senior Bowl

My Take—What a great addition Campanaro would be to the Ravens. He reminds me of Julian Edelman and Wes Welker–a real possession receiver who is tough as nails.

Wake Forest wide receiver Michael Campanaro is scheduled to have a formal interview with the Ravens tonight at the Senior Bowl.

He has already spoken informally with the Ravens as they meet with several draft prospects here at this all-star game. The River Hill graduate and Clarksville native is the Demon Deacons’ all-time leading receiver with 229 receptions. He ranks third in school history with 2,506 yards.

Campanaro was fully cleared medically two weeks ago after he broke his collarbone during his senior year at Wake Forest, which limited him to eight games. Before the injury, he caught 67 passes for 803 yards and six touchdowns.

“I’m just happy to be out here, flying around and playing again,” Campanaro said. “I’ve been knocking off the rust a little bit.”

As a junior, Campanaro caught 79 passes for 763 yards and seven touchdowns, earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference second-team honors. He is projected to be a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick as a 5-foot-9, 193-pound slot receiver.
