8 Terps Ready for USA Tryout for World Cup Lacrosse On Sunday

Eight former University of Maryland men’s lacrosse standouts have been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team Blue and White rosters for the evaluation game at the ninth annual Champion Challenge, which will take place Sunday, Jan. 26 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Ryan Young (’11), Dan Burns (’11) and Lee Zink (’04) will suit up for the Blue team, while Jeremy Sieverts (’09), Drew Snider (’12), Jeff Reynolds (’09), Brett Schmidt (’11) and Brian Farrell (’11) will compete as members of the White team.

Jesse Bernhardt (’13) was selected to compete at the event but is unable due to injury.

The match is the final on-field opportunity for members of the 51-player Team USA training roster to earn a place on the squad that will defend gold at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship, July 10-19 in Denver.

The game will be streamed live at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN3 and will be shown via tape delay on ESPNU at 10 p.m.
