Johns Hopkins Opens the Season With a Thrilling Triple Overtime 10-9 Win over Ohio State, as Brandon Benn Breaks the Deadlock

photo-135Some observations a great opening day game — one that will now be repeated every year as Hopkins Enters tHe BIG next year.

Wells Stanwick led the way for the Blue Jays with 1 goal and 5 assists while Jesse King had the opposite for OSU. But both were quiet in the OTs

Both coaches went with the possession then timeout strategy in OT, one that I will never understand.

Eric Schneider was stellar in the nets for Hopkins and certainly held his ground in OT after giving up 3 late goals to erase a 9-6 Hopkins lead.

With less then a minute left in regulation, Ryan Brown scored what appeared to be the winning goal but it was disallowed due to a crease violation.

The 1st half ended at 2-2 but Hopkins broke out in the 3rd quarter to score 6 times after shooting 2-22 in the 1st half.
