Alyssa Thomas kept passing the ball to Katie Rutan, who repeatedly knocked down shots from beyond the arc. The combination was too much for Florida State, whose effort to stop Maryland’s inside game came apart when Rutan began hitting shots.
Thomas had 22 points, a career-high 12 assists and 12 rebounds for her fourth triple-double of the season, Rutan tied a school record with eight 3-pointers and the eighth-ranked Terrapins rolled to an 87-77 victory Thursday night.
