Former Maryland standout and current Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver Torrey Smith will join Washington Redskins’ linebacker Ryan Kerrigan for the Battle of the Beltway celebrity basketball game to be played Saturday, March 29 at Comcast Center.
Smith and fellow Ravens will take on Kerrigan and Redskins teammates at 5 p.m. with doors opening at 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Torrey Smith Foundation and Ryan Kerrigan’s Blitz for the Better Foundation.
“It’s my favorite Foundation Event,” says Smith. “We’ve been getting bigger and better. We used to hold it in my hometown, but there wasn’t enough space this year. We’re trying to get 5,000 people out here.
“I think it’s really cool to be back [at the University of Maryland],” he says. “It’s all about giving back to the people that got you where you are.”
