Junior Jay Carlson scored two goals and added an assist on “Senior Day” to lead the No. 7 University of Maryland men’s lacrosse team to a 12-6 victory over Navy in front of 4,538 Saturday afternoon at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
The Terrapins improve to 11-3 on the year, while the Midshipman end their season at 4-10.
Maryland started off the scoring at 12:07 with a transition goal. Senior Brian Cooper caused a Navy turnover in the Maryland box and senior Michael Ehrhardt picked up the groundball and pushed it up the field. He found junior Casey Ikeda breaking toward the goal and hit Ikeda with a good pass that Ikeda converted into his first career goal.
