#3 March 14, 2004–Gary won his only ACC Title as John Gilchrist led the Terps over the #3 seed, #2 seed and finally Duke 95-87 in overtime. I had flown down to Duke that morning and went to the game with Stan the Fan. The game was played in “neutral” Greensboro.
#4 Feb 20, 1986 –Maryland became the 1st team to win in the Dean Dome as Len Bias scored 35 to lead the Terps to a 77-72 win in OT. The game will long be remembered for Bias’ steal late in the game and his subsequent reverse dunk.
#5–Tie—- Greivis Vasquez banked in a tough floater from the right wing with 37 seconds left to lift Maryland to its first ACC regular season title in 8 years. In front of an electric sold-out Comcast Center, Vasquez scored 20 points in his final home game and wrapped up ACC Player of the Year honors in the process. Greivis along with Juan Dixon and Len Bias certainly are my 3 favorite Terps of all time.
April 6, 2006—Lady Terps Defeat Duke 78-75 to Win the NCAA Title. Kristy Tolliver his a 3 pointer near the end of regulation to send the game into OT.
