Maryland picked up its biggest commitment yet in the Class of 2015 when Rivals250 defensive back Kareem Ali Jr. ended his recruitment on Thursday, committing to Randy Edsall and the Terps.
The four-star prospect from Timber Creek H.S. in Sicklerville, N.J. has made it no secret that the Terps were one of his top programs for months now. However, late pushes from programs like Pitt and Louisville made this a tougher decision than he originally imagined.
Kareem Ali Jr. became the Terps’ seventh commit on Thursday.
“We did a check and balance approach to everything,” said Kareem Ali Sr., his father. “From academics, to the coaches, to their ties to the NFL and all that. We weighed everything out and Maryland just had what we were looking for in basically everything. When we did that, it was pretty clear to me that this was the right fit for Kareem.
