Graham Zusi (ex Terrapin) was spectacular tonight. With Altidore out, Zusi was inserted into the starting lineup and performed like a well seasoned pro. Once again the Deuse (Clint Dempsey) played like one of the top players in the world for Team USA.
Tough day for Michael Bradley. Though he was on his game his failure to convert on basically an open goal and his inabilty to maintain possession or at least kick the ball into orbit led to the tieing goal.
Team USA was already figuring who was going to rest on Thursday against Germany when Portugal produced an improbable goal in what seemed to be the final play of the game.
The nation was on edge. Can the USA produce whatever it needs on Thursday to advance to the knockout round? I believe it will.
