The University of Maryland athletic department finished 32nd in the final 2013-14 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings after capturing a national title in women’s lacrosse and advancing to the NCAA Final Four in men’s lacrosse last month.
The Terrapins totaled 676 points after receiving 64 points to conclude the year on a magical run by the baseball team, which advanced to its first NCAA Super Regional in program history.
Maryland picked up the maximum 100 points by winning the women’s lacrosse national championship in May with a wire-to-wire 15-12 victory over Syracuse. The Terps were also awarded third place points (83) for advancing to the men’s lacrosse final four.
