Maryland added another four-star prospect on Wednesday evening when Philadelphia native and Imhotep Charter standout D.J. Moore verbally committed to Randy Edsall, recruiting coach John Dunn and the rest of the Maryland coaching staff.
After making the trip to College Park this past weekend for The Big Show, Moore had indicated that he was thinking about moving his commitment date up. However, he was still expected to potentially see more school this summer and make a commitment in the beginning of the season, making this a surprise for the Terrapin staff.
Moore has been one of the region’s top performers at the Rivals/Under Armour Camp in New Jersey for two years straight now.
“My mom loved it down there,” Moore said. “She really liked the school and I really liked everything too. They recruited me heavy, I felt the love, so I just decided that there wasn’t really any reason not to get this over with. I knew I wanted to go to Maryland.”
