Maryland picked up its 17th commitment in the Class of 2015 on Tuesday evening when two-star linebacker Isaiah Davis verbally committed to Randy Edsall and the Terrapin coaching staff.
The 6-foot-1, 215 pounder from St. Stephens & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Va. ultimately chose the Terps over Virginia Tech, Boston College and N.C. State, the later of which proved to be Maryland’s top competitor.
After visiting College Park a week ago, Aug. 6, Davis also made his way to Raleigh this past Saturday, Aug. 9. Following visits to both his top schools, he and his family then took a few days to think things over, only to let each coaching staff and the media know late Tuesday night.
Davis should be the final true linebacker in Maryland’s current class.
Davis began his career at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C., breaking onto the scene as early as his freshman season, where he recorded 54 tackles and one sack. He then followed that up with an even more impressive sophomore season, racking up 71 total tackles, five of which were for a loss of yards.
