What a magnificent atmosphere at Camden Yards last night. I forgot what a real 9 inning game is like. The 8th inning 8 run rally might have been the greatest offensive inning in Oriole history. Scherzer was dominating except for a few mistakes. Once again JJ Hardy provided the key hit of the with his 7th inning HR.
Pedro Martinez commented that the 1st inning for Tillman (3 strikeouts) used up a lot of energy which led to the back to back HRs in the 2nd. Pedro also praised the brilliance of Buck handling the bullpen to insure the O’s victory.
How in the world do you let Kinsler run when Cabrera is in the whole. The 8th inning double play preceded the HR from Miquel.
Once again I felt sorry for Chris Davis missing the festivities.
De Aza continues to perform brilliantly for the O’s with 2 doubles in the 8th.
In my eyes this was a must win for the O’s because of the nature of the Tigers starting staff.
Jim Johnson was on the inactive list for the Tigers.
Mtausz and TJ McFarlund were inactive for the O’s.
Tommy Hunter struggled in the 9th but escaped the inning without being scored upon.
KC defeated the Angels 3-2 in the 11th on a HR by Mike Moustakas.
Strasburg pitches for the Nats Friday at 3 against the Giants.
As for the O’s it’s Chen vs Verlander at high noon.
