It’s utterly amazing to me the series of events that led to extending JJ becoming one of the crucial future moves the O’s had to fulfill. Early in the year, there seemed no way that Hardy wasn’t going to be the odd man out. After all, the Yankees and the Mets are desperate for a shortstop. But then came the injury to Manny, the 25 game suspension of Chris Davis, and the brilliant, clutch 2nd half of the season for JJ.
