Notes from tonight’s game

Brown Climbs to No. 4: Quarterback C.J. Brown threw two touchdown passes to increase his career total to 31. Brown passed Chris Turner (30, 2007-09) for fourth all-time in school history.

For his career, Brown has been responsible for 53 career touchdowns tying him with Scott Milanovich (1992-95) for the all-time Maryland record.

All-Purpose Totals: Defensive back William Likely totaled a career-best 228 all-purpose yards Saturday night all on kick returns. Likely’s total is the highest since Stefon Diggs finished with 248 at North Carolina on Nov. 24, 2012. Likely averaged 33.0 yards per kick return.

Career Catch: Wide receiver Daniel Adams’ 20-yard touchdown reception marked the first catch of his Maryland career. Adams is the ninth different Maryland receiver to catch a touchdown pass this season.

Add to the Total: Defensive lineman Andre Monroe recorded his 23rd career sack Saturday moving him into sole possession of second all-time in Maryland history. Monroe is one sack shy of the school record held by Mike Corvino (24, 1979-1982).

On the season, Monroe has a team-high 8.5 sacks. It is tied for the 13th-highest single-season total in program history. Monroe had 9.5 sacks last season.

Tackle Machine: With 18 tackles, linebacker Cole Farrand has totaled double-digit tackles in four of the last six games and has totaled at least 17 tackles three times. Farrand’s 18 tackles are the second-most for the senior linebacker this season. He totaled 19 at Indiana (Sept. 27), which is tied for the most tackles in a Big Ten contest.

Offensive Notes: Maryland posted six passing plays of 15 or more yards including four plays over 20 yards … Maryland converted its only fourth down attempt of the game. The Terps are 7-for-9 (77.8%) on fourth down this season and entered the contest ranked third in the Big Ten … Maryland converted its first 2-point conversion since 2011 against West Virginia (Sept. 17) … wide receiver Juwann Winfree posted career highs in catches (4) and receiving yards (80) … running back Wes Brown finished with a career-high four catches, besting his previous mark of two.

had passes not been dropped the game would have not changed. md offensive line played poorly. cj didn’t play well. he’s not a good passer.

the defense gave md a chance though tired late in the game.

i’m guessing edsall thinks cj is the second coming of john unitas or joe montana. are md’s back up qb’s that bad that no one gets a shot when md offense led by brown isn’t moving the ball.

edsall 0-13 vs top 25 teams while coaching md. what a bargain at 2 million a yr.

had the dropped passes been completed the outcome would still be the same. the score would be the same.

offensive line played poorly. cj didn’t play very well.

defense kept md in the game for 3 quarters then tired.
