Rutgers enters Saturday’s showdown coming off a 45-3 loss to Michigan State. The Scarlet Knights have two Big Ten wins in their first season in the conference.
Gary Nova has started all 11 games at quarterback for Rutgers, throwing for 2320 yards and 16 TDs. Nova has also tossed 12 interceptions this season.
The Scarlett Knights have three running backs that have rushed for over 300 yards in 2014. Desmon Peoples has the most with 447 while Paul James leads the team with five touchdowns on the ground. Justin Goodwin has accumulated 322 yards and all three backs have started at least three games.
Junior Leonte Carroo has emerged as one of the most pro- lific recievers in the Big Ten this season with 47 catches for 939 yards and eight touchdowns.
Steve Longa has paced the Scarlet Knight defense with 85 tackles, including 4.5 for loss. Kemoko Turay has been terror in opposing backfields so far this season with 8.5 sacks.
Head coach Kyle Flood is in his third season at the helm. Flood has been at Rutgers since 2005 in various compac- ities and guided the Scarlett Knights to the 2012 Russell Athletic Bowl and 2013 Pinstripe Bowl.
