In its inaugural season in the Big Ten, Maryland placed 64 student-athletes on the distinguished academic all-conference list, as announced by the Big Ten Wednesday. The Terrapins had representation from each of their six fall teams.
“We are very proud of the academic achievements our Maryland student-athletes accomplished this past fall semester,” said director of athletics Kevin Anderson. “This is a true testament to their hard work and commitment in both their academic and athletic pursuits. Our dedicated student-athletes continue to be a source of pride as they strive to be the best.”
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Terrapins are represented by field hockey (9), football (21), women’s cross country (15), men’s soccer (2), women’s soccer (14) and volleyball (3) on the academic all-conference list.
