Pack and layman Lead the Terps Past NC Central 67-56

Richaud Pack scored 17 points, Jake Layman added 15 and the 19th-ranked Maryland men’s basketball team cruised to a 67-56 victory Wednesday night.

The Terrapins (9-1) led 14-12 before using a 21-2 run to go up by 21. Maryland connected on five consecutive three-pointers during the surge, including two apiece by Layman and freshman Jared Nickens. Layman has posted double-digit scoring in all 10 games for Maryland this season.

NCCU (6-4) made only two field goals in the final 11 minutes of the first half and trailed 39-18 at the break.

β€œTo be up 21 on this team at the half is an amazing feat,” head coach Mark Turgeon said. β€œI was really proud of that. The second half, we just treaded water.”
