Troy Wainwright has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director of Stewardship and Alumni Relations, University of Maryland director of athletics Kevin Anderson announced Monday.
In his expanded role, Wainwright will oversee the stewardship of all major donors, Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund supporters and current and former student-athletes. Wainwright will also continue to serve as the athletic department’s major gift fundraiser, working with Senior Managing Director for Alumni Relations and Athletic Development Gary Williams on the development of the new Cole Field House. In addition, Wainwright will continue to direct the major gift fundraising team, which raised over $2.5 million in the last fiscal year for the Terrapin Scholarship Fund, and he will also serve as the sports supervisor for head coach Mark Turgeon and the men’s basketball program.”
