The eighth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team (15-2, 6-0 B1G) won its ninth straight game Sunday with a 74-54 victory over Illinois at XFINITY Center. The Terrapins have won six straight conference games to open their first season in the Big Ten.
Sophomore Brionna Jones had a career-high 24 points with 14 rebounds and a career-best six blocks to lead the way. She picked up her fifth double-double of the season and fourth in conference competition. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Lexie Brown each scored 13 for the Terrapins, the lone unbeaten team in Big Ten play. Brown added a career-high seven steals and eight assists. Brene Moseley added 10 points, all in the second half.
