Maryland is having a huge season under Mark Turgeon in large part because of the presence of a local playmaker in Melo Trimble. Who knows how long that the Terps are going to keep Trimble on campus, but if he sticks around a little while then he will have another local stud joining him in the backcourt.
At 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, Cowan doesn’t blow anybody away with his physical stature, but he brings a world of toughness and skill to the floor. Like Maryland, Georgetown, Miami, Xavier, Illinois, Florida State, and West Virginia all offered Cowan a scholarship and wanted him to be the man who ran their offense for several years.
