Eric Fehr just scored on a breakaway which followed an incredible goal by Nicholas Backstrom, after 2 perfect passes. Troy Brouwer scored twice, one in each of the first 2 periods. If not for stellar goaltending by Quick, I can’t imagine what the score would be.
Now with 9 minutes to go Holtby is holding on to his shutout, as the Kings are just being thoroughly outplayed. Mike Green just checked Kyle Clifford over the boards into the Caps bench. The Caps might have hell to pay when they venture to the Staples center next week in a rematch.
Ovie has been scintillating though being held goal less.
The Caps are now 26-15 -10.
