Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James is one of the many players who has told reporters during these playoffs that no extra motivation is needed at this point — the goal is to win a title. James did, however, reveal after Game 2 of the NBA Finals that he has “some other motivation that I won’t talk about right now.”
This secret motivation has officially, unquestionably become a thing. ABC’s Doris Burke asked him about it in his post-game interview on Tuesday. His teammates are joking about it in the locker room. His friend and former teammate Dwyane Wade interviewed him on ESPN after Game 3, and James didn’t spill the beans on the air with him.
“[Wade] tried to get the secret motivation out of me, and I didn’t give it to him either, even though I told him,” James said on Wednesday. “But he won’t tell you guys, though. He won’t tell y’all until hopefully after this is all over.”
