Senior forward Jake Layman, senior guard Rasheed Sulaimon, and sophomore guard Melo Trimble have been named to a trio of national watch lists at their respective positions, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.
Layman was tabbed to the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year list after being named an All-Big Ten selection in 2015. The Wrentham, Mass., native boasted 29 double-figure scoring games a year ago while ranking in the top 25 in the conference in scoring (12.5 ppg), field goal percentage (.470) and rebounding (5.8 rpg).
Sulaimon is one of 20 candidates for the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year award. The Houston, Texas, native averaged 10 points and 2.7 rebounds per game during his three-year stint at Duke prior to transferring to the University of Maryland for his senior campaign.
For the second straight season, Trimble landed on the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year watch list.
