The Maryland men’s golf team currently leads the field by two strokes after the first round of the Maryland Terrapin Invitational Monday at Woodmont Country Club’s North Course.
The Terrapins are four-over as a team with a score of 292 after the first round of 18. Freshman Timothy Colanta is tied for fourth and leads Maryland with his one-under score of 71.
Sophomore David Kocher went even on the first 18 holes and is tied for seventh. Sophomore Joe Brooks is tied for 16th with his two-over 74 on the day.
Freshman Justin Feldman went three-over with a 75 and senior Tom Harris shot a 76.
Competing as individuals, freshman Reilly Erhardt finished with a 76 as well and freshman Chris Navarro shot an 82.
Due to frost, the event was delayed until 12:45 p.m. Monday. The 11 teams competing will play the second and final round Tuesday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Boston College, Bethune-Cookman, Drexel, George Mason, James Madison, Longwood, Loyola (Md.), Nebraska, Ohio and Rutgers will all be competing.
Woodmont’s North Course is a par-72 that covers 7,250 yards.
