With 6:34 left to play and the Terps trailing by 13, I leaned over to Wayne Viener and said no miracles tonight. He responded well maybe we could turn the game quickly. Wow. Melo, Rasheed and Nickens were a combined 3-25 from the fieldbut not the youngster from Milwaukee. Diamond finished 10-15 with 19-25 from the free throw line, to go along with 12 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
Now we know why Bo Ryan left Wisconsin early. He didnt want to answer why or how he lost Diamond from his backyard.
Stats of note:
Another slow start for the Terps. Turgeon expressed his concern post game.
Turgeon is giving Brantley every chance he can but it is not working out greatly.
10 assists 9 turnovers for Maryland—Melo had 6 assists
At one point the Terps were 2-17 from the trey line before Melo hit 2 and Robert Carter closed the door with his trey.
41-31 rebound edge to Maryland.
Next up: Northwestern–Saturday night at 8 on the road

Without Diamond yesterday the Terps lose by 20. Congrats Diamond on gaining the Freshman single game scoring record.
