Senior center Malina Howard led the Terrapins with 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting as the No. 8 Maryland women’s basketball team breezed past Nebraska, 89-50, Thursday evening in the XFINITY Center.
“I was really excited by our response coming off our last game,” head coach Brenda Frese said. “We were really ready to go from the first tip. I thought it showed great character. When you look across the board in terms of how we defended, rebounded and shared the basketball we were able to make many easy play and get up in down in transition. I felt it was one of our most complete games.”
Howard led the game in points as five Terps posted double-digit points. Brene Moseley added 14 points, and Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough each had 11 for Maryland (13-2, 2-1 Big Ten). Tierney Pfirman was 5 of 7 from the field and finished with 10 points for the Terrapins.
