I was cold watching this game in my living room. It was a pleasure to hear all the kudos for the play of Stefon Diggs. No excuses for Blair Walsh, he just shanked it. He may as well move on.
the holder messed things up on the final fg attempt. he didn’t have the laces facing away from the kicker.
ever see a football placed on a tee for a kickoff where the laces face the kicker? ever watch a relay of a field goal and see the holder rotate the ball so the laces face the goalpost? ever see a punter kick the ball with the laces facing the ground?
there is a reason why the laces have to be facing the target on a place kick or towards the sky on a punt…if the kicker hits the laces first it adversely affects the direction of the ball.
walsh didn’t shank the kick. he took blame because he has class unlike his coach who is from the randy edsall school of let’s throw the player under the bus.
by the way firing randy edsall has sure contributed to all the recruits decommitting and no one seems to be interested in coming to md.
