melo scored. layups and 9 free throws. no outside shot and didn’t do a good job of getting others involved. md had only 10 assists. md plus 1 on rebounds against a much smaller team and sdst won the battle for offensive rebounds.
nickens and layman were the stars with terrific shooting.
a couple of very favorable calls by the refs late in the game really helped the terps.
terps didn’t show a killer’s instinct and had trouble putting the jackrabbits out of the game.
an unimpressive win but a win nonetheless.
terps are in better shape than bruce’s great teams, purdure, west va and mich st. to be fair most had mich st going far
will melo’s hamstring bounce back? that’s the big question.

Another poorly coached game. Terps are unable to get the ball to the big men. Even though Jake had a great game, he was open time after time in the corner and Melo just dribbled aimlessly and ignored him. Don’t you think the middle would open up if they threw the ball to the corner instead of just dribble dribble dribble. I am happy with the recruiting but I think someone like Jimmy Patsos, for the long run, would have been a better choice than Turgeon.
I agree that some of the other big time coaches have had a few stinkers but Turgeon consistently does a mediocre job with the X’s and O’s.
