Judgment Day #1—Season on the Line

This doesn’t need to be said but with all the hype, with all the fanfare, with all of the expectation, with much of the disappointment–a single game in Spokane against an unlikely opponent in Hawaii will dictate much of how this season will be remembered. A sweet sixteen appearance by the Terps was always considered an afterthought in the glory years almost 2 decades ago. It’s been a LONG time since the Terps were there.

This year we have the talent, and thus victory is a must. Yes that’s a lot of pressure but that’s just the way it is. No excuse for coming out flat, no excuse for non aggressive play, no excuses for selfish play. Hawaii is an excellent team though its victory over Cal was a bit marginalized by the absence of Cal’s best player. There is no way that the Terps at their best should not win today. Jake will continue to play at his highest level, Melo, I believe will probably abandon the trey that he has been inconsistent with, and Diamond Stone will step up, I am confident that RCJ sees double digit boards, and the Terps will be heading to Louisville for the ultimate game against #1 Kansas.
