Kevin Anderson remains Athletic Director at Maryland!!!!! In this crazy era of social media, where there seems to be a total lack of credible sourcing and bundles of fake news, the fate of Kevin Anderson took a huge swing today.
On my way to College Park, I received no less then 7 rapid fire phone calls that AD Kevin Anderson had been dismissed. I began hearing rumors of this sort on Friday but I paid them no intention as I could not conceive why this would occur. But then rumors spread, that Kevin was seeking a similar position at Cal, and there were disputes between him and Dr Loh, and so on. I called my sources and no one would definitively say they knew of a such a move.
Later on the University tweeted out that despite all rumors Kevin Anderson was still the Athletic Director of Maryland.
Yesterday the Maryland Soccer team’s head coach won his 400th game. Today, the hoops fans were ecstatic over the verbal commitment of Eric Ayala, a 4 star 2018 6’5 180 lb combo guard.
And yes, Kevin Anderson was not present at the game, a rarity for him, as he never misses a football game, let alone any Maryland game of significance.
So for now, I will take the university stance as gospel–Kevin remains AD.
On to the football game, though Max B played satisfactorily, it wasn’t enough as NW carved up the Maryland secondary with an endless string of underneath crossing patterns especially in crucial situations. DJ Moore caught 12 passes for 210 yards and 2 TDs and probably had a 3rd TD stolen from him at the end of the game when he was ruled not to have gotten a foot down to complete his reception. I NEVER blame losses on bad calls but Maryland was the recipient of a horrible no call on pass interference late in the game. Would it have really changed the outcome, probably not but on a bizarre day it was a punctuation point.
DJ was visibly despondent after the defeat but let me be clear, VERY, VERY FEW TEAMS CAN WIN WITH QB3 AS THEIR STARTER. Michigan has fell to mediocrity with QB2, Clemson lost to Syracuse, yes Syracuse with QB2. Max B is QB3. When he went down for a few plays today, DJ was forced to institute the Wildcat as his offense. This is BIZARRE. You can’t blame anyone for this oddity.
