Arizona athletic director Dave Heeke told ESPN that he stands behind head men’s basketball coach Sean Miller after Wildcats assistant Emanuel “Book” Richardson was one of four high-major assistant coaches arrested as part of an FBI probe into corruption within college basketball. “I have utmost respect for Sean,” Heeke said in an exclusive interview with ESPN. “He’s a guy of high integrity who has run this program in an honest and clear and upfront way. I have no reason to not believe he’s done that always. I fully am in support of Sean and the program he’s run.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves waived Melo Trimble on Oct. 14, but the former Maryland men’s basketball star has found a new home with the Iowa Wolves, the Timberwolves’ G-League affiliate. Trimble decided to join a G-League team rather than try out for an overseas club. Trimble’s move to play in Des Moines, Iowa, keeps him on the NBA radar despite having the chance to make more money on a foreign squad. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard can still sign with any NBA team.

Diamond Stone will begin his second season as a pro in the NBA’s Developmental League. Stone was listed on the training camp roster for the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls’ Gatorade League affiliate. The 6-foot-10, 255-pound former Maryland center signed with the Bulls in mid-September but was cut a month later as the team trimmed down its final roster for the regular season. It’s his third team in a year-plus since the Clippers selected him in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft.
