Head coach Mark Turgeon announced the addition of forward Trace Ramsey to the class of 2018 class Thursday. Ramsey fortifies a consensus top-15 recruiting class for Turgeon, who also welcomed forward Jalen Smith, and guards Eric Ayala, Aaron Wiggins and Serrel Smith to the fold for next season.
Ramsey is coming off a prep year at Don Bosco Prep Academy, where he averaged 17.0 points per game last season. The Valparaiso, Ind. native was previously a standout player at Valparaiso high school, where he was a two-time Honorable Mention All-State player and Top-50 selection as a senior. Ramsey earned first team all-area honors as a senior and was a two-time First Team All-Duneland Athletic Conference selection as a junior and senior.
