21 Turnovers Leads to Brutal Conference Loss in The Garden—Illini 78 Terps 67

10 turnovers in the last 9 minutes in a close game will almost always lead to defeat

The past 2 games, the Terps have looked out of kilter and in some cases a step behind.

So perhaps now Illinois has shown that the guy to attempt to stop or slow down on Maryland is Cowan. Why? because all attempts to stop Bruno have failed. Cowan makes this team work. His production and involvement are crucial every gam.

Remember this was an Illinois squad that was 1-7 in Conference. so at the halfway point, the Terps are at 7-3 but trending downwards.

But have no fear. Tuesday Maryland has a home game against Northwestern and I believe the role players will play much better. Wiggins, Serrell, Lindo and Bender need to contribute more to help make this team a winner.

10 games left

Home—Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan, and Minnesota

Road –Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, Iowa and Penn State

Go 5-5 –3-2 at home and 2-3 on the road Finish at 12-8 all will be fine.

Northwestern is a MUST MUST win Tuesday night

Another brutal job by the Turge. I was hopeful that he had learned how to adequately coach. He has an incredibly talented team and is not capable of making them better. First off, it is not to our advantage to make Anthony Cowan the “go to” guy in the end of the game. He stagnates the whole offense as he aimlessly dribbles the ball for at least 17 seconds and then either takes a hail mary shot or dribbles wildly toward the basket. He has an amazing amount of turnovers late in the game. It is not his fault it is the Turge’s fault. Usually in the first half we work the ball around and everyone participates in the offense and it works for us…why does Turge change the offensive flow late in the game?? I hate to see a good team go to waste.
