Indiana sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 22 points mainly by dominating the paint in the second half. Senior forward Galin Smith drew the assignment for most of the contest and did a commendable job, but fouled out with five minutes to play, and junior forward Jairus Hamilton didn’t stand a chance versus Jackson-Davis. A torrid shooting performance in the first half wasn’t enough to offset a poor defensive outing as the Maryland Terrapins gave up over 80 points for the first time in three years, falling to the Michigan Wolverines 84-73 on New Year’s Eve. Yet, Maryland couldn’t keep warm at the free throw line, as they went 10-21 and on the defensive side were … Read More »

The Maryland Terrapins welcomed the Rutgers Scarlet Knights into Xfinity Center for each team’s Big Ten opener, and while the Terps held a slim 28-27 lead after making a late first half run, it wasn’t enough as they lost their first game at home, 74-60. Maryland’s defense kept the Terps within striking distance throughout, but a three minute lapse in the middle of the second half combined with poor shooting allowed Rutgers to make a second 10-0 … Read More »
