LaMonte Wade hit two home runs as part of a four homer effort to help Maryland defeat third-ranked Virginia by the score of 7-6 in its ACC Championship opener Thursday at NewBridge Bank Park. Maryland landed its top fifth-year target May 22, as 6-3-plus guard Richaud Pack verbally committed to the Terps. TT spoke with Pack minutes after his commitment — and a more impressive young man you may not find.

The 2014 induction class for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame has been approved by the US Lacrosse Board of Directors. This year’s eight-person class will be officially inducted in a ceremony on Saturday, October 25, at The Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley, Md.
The members of the 2014 induction class are: Stan Cockerton, Jay Jalbert, Erin Brown Millon, Steve Mitchell, Michele Uhlfelder, Peter G. Voelkel, Carole Wakefield (posthumous) and Marge Watson.

Sophomore forward Charles Mitchell has been granted permission to transfer for his junior season to tend to his ill grandmother, the Maryland program announced on Thursday.
Mitchell will look to transfer to a school in or close to the Atlanta area where his grandmother helped raise him. One possible landing spot for Mitchell could be the University of Georgia.
