Wow it’s almost a carbon copy situation from last year. A year ago almost to the day, the then #1 Terps host NC, came out flat and could never catch the Heels.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Jake Stinnett struck out a career-high 14 batters and held No. 11 NC State to two hits through five innings to lead Maryland past the Wolfpack 10-0 Friday night at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium.

Stinnett’s 14 strikeouts are the most in an ACC contest this season and the most by a Terrapin pitcher since 2008. Stinnett struck out nine of the first 17 batters he faced including striking out the side in the fourth.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Maryland wrestler Jimmy Sheptock moved on to the quarterfinal round with two wins on the opening day of the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Thursday.

Five Terrapin wrestlers started the day and four will continue on to Friday’s action. Christian Boley and Shyheim Brown rebounded from first round losses with wins in their wrestlebacks while Spencer Myers won in the opening round and dropped his second match.
