The Maryland women’s basketball team earned a No. 4 seed in the 2014 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Terps will play 13th-seeded Army Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in Comcast Center in the First Round.

Driving home from DC in a driving snow, I was forced to slow down and miss the NIT Selection show. About 9PM, I called Wayne Viener and asked –”so who are we playing. ” His response after he accused me of kidding him, was “We didn’t make the NIT.”

Now I for one have repeatedly stated that I couldn’t care less about the NIT. But I will admit, I find it unbelievable not to have made it.

The Towson University men’s basketball team has accepted a bid to play in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), marking the Tigers first postseason appearance since 1991.

Towson (23-10) will play University of South Carolina Upstate (19-14) in a first round road game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Hodge Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
