• Tech learned this week that Robert Carter, Jr., will be sidelined indefinitely after sustaining a tear of the meniscus in his left knee during the Yellow Jackets’ game at Charlotte last Sunday. An MRI taken Tuesday revealed the tear, and Carter, Jr., will underog surgery next Tuesday (Jan. 7).

Sophomore Schillo Tshuma and senior Patrick Mullins officially began their professional playing careers Thursday by signing contracts with Major League Soccer.

Tshuma was one of four players to garner a coveted Generation adidas contract while Mullins inked an early MLS contract.

Mount St. Joseph sophomore midfielder Drew Harrison has orally committed to play lacrosse at Maryland. A member of the Chesapeake Rock, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound recruit played varsity as a freshman. Harrison was named an All-Star at the MVP camp. He also considered Towson and Navy. from insidelacrosse.com
