You rarely see a player gather his teammates in the dugout for a few words of leadership but that’s what happened Sunday as David Ortiz felt the Red Sox were pressing. It worked as Jonny Gomes broke out of a 0-9 slump to pop a 3 run Dinger and take the Sox to victory. Papi was 3-3.

Two former University of Maryland standouts Quinn Carney and Tracy Stumpf were named to the 2013 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Saturday night in Hunt Valley, Md.
Carney and Stumpf joined six other inductees including Jim Berkman, Michele DeJuliis, Sue Heether, Bill Miller, Ryan Wade, and Michael Watson in this year’s class.

Considering the Terps 5 playmakers missed the game today, I thought it was a tremendous effort today by the Coaching Staff and players. On Sunday Edsall had to formulate a game plan with at least 7 new starters. Imagine if the Ravens had Flaaco, Jacobi, Torrey, Ray Rice, and Dallas Clarke out. Don’t forget both corners, the middle lb and the best tackler.

Pretty nice crowd for a scrimmage that lasted 36 minutes of stop time
Called very closely almost to the point of boredom
Roddy Peters was very impressive distributing the ball and driving to the bucket
Charles Mitchell has greatly improved as Turgeon commented post game
Jake Layman hit 3or4threes and seemed to get good looks though pressed closely
