Senior Patrick Mullins was involved in both goals as the No. 8 Maryland men’s soccer team defeated No. 23 Tulsa, 2-1, at Ludwig Field Tuesday night.
The Terrapins (4-2-3, 3-0-1 ACC) dominated play against the Golden Hurricane (5-4-1) for most of the night. Mullins and freshman Michael Sauers sparked a Terrapin offense that outshot Tulsa, 16-11, and earned 10 corner kicks.

Wilfork was replaced Sunday night by undrafted rookie Joe Vellano out of Maryland. The 6-foot-2, 285-pounder contributed a sack and two tackles against the Falcons.
Atlanta ran only 12 times for 46 yards after Wilfork left the game.

The Orioles received good news today after Manny Machado’s visit to Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Machado went to see Dr. Andrews to receive a second opinion on his injured left knee, and Andrews’ evaluation concurred with that of the Orioles team doctors, according to an industry source.

Racking up the yards: Florida State’s offense has been humming under the lead of redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston and a three-pronged rushing attack. Currently the Seminoles are first in the ACC and No. 10 in Division I-A in total offense at 540.3 yards per game. The No. 21 University of Maryland women’s soccer team battled No. 1 Virginia, but the Cavaliers took advantage of a defensive turnover to net the game’s lone goal just prior to the first half ending to take a 1-0 decision over the Terps Sunday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.
The Terrapins now stand at 6-5-0 for the season with a 2-3-0 mark in ACC play. The Cavaliers remain undefeated with an 11-0-0 overall record and 5-0-0 in the conference.
