Recent Loyola University Maryland graduate Erik Etherly signed his first professional contract this week, inking a deal to play in the Israeli Basketball Super League for Hapoel Gilboa Galil Elyon. A two-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team forward, Etherly will begin play this season for Hapoel Galil Elyon in the top basketball league in Israel. I guess it was ridiculous to think the O’s could weep the Red Sox so at this point let’s be happy with a series win. Adam Jones broke up a No hitter in the  7th with a HR. 

The Orioles have 4 games starting Friday with Tampa.  Right now perhaps the team in best shape is Cleveland. Because of the unbalanced schedule Cleveland closes the season with 3 games against Houston, 3 with Chicago, and 3 with Minnesota.

photo-112Downtown Baltimore was rocking last night at the UA Store with the arrival Maryland’s 2.0 Pride Uniforms to be worn for Saturday’s game vs WVU. The night was highlighted by an appearance from Torrey Smith.  Just a few comments:

The No. 21 University of Maryland women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 23 Virginia Tech Thursday evening in front of 1,334 at Ludwig Field.

The loss drops the Terps to 5-3-0 on the season and evens their ACC mark at 1-1-0. The Hokies improve to 7-1-1 overall and are now 2-1-0 in conference play.
