The past 2 years Terrapin Men’s Lacrosse has risen back to the level where it belongs–almost. The final games against UVA in 2011 and Loyola in 2012 where heartbreaking. And here we are with a chance to get back to the final 4 again and all that stands between Maryland and another final 4 and the need for redemption is 2 home victories. It just hasn’t been easy the past 2 years in game 1 and tomorrow might just be … Read More »

Veteran attackman Ben Rubeor had another big game with points to lead a balanced offense as the Chesapeake Bayhawks manhandled the Ohio Machine, 14-5, in a game shortened to three quarters by lighting activity around Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Rubeor, a sixth-year professional, scored four goals and assisted another as the Chesapeake offense clicked on all cylinders. Rubeor, who scored seven goals in last Saturday’s win over New York, has now scored at least one point in 32 consecutive games and was … Read More »
“Before everyone starts worrying about Pannell, that game is going to be won in the middle of the field. Maryland just scored 18 against Colgate, but Cornell is different from what they’ve seen. Getting familiar with each other’s style is six days is really tough, and that’s a balance of getting the team used to each opponent without overcoaching. I think the middle of the field will be huge, as will who covers Pannell and how they choose to approach … Read More »

1st Period Summary
Caps got off to a horrible start with some lackadaisical defensive play, as Brian Boyle scored 53 seconds into the game. From that point on the Caps won all the fights but the Rangers had all the scoring chances. Braden Holtby made several acrobatic saves especially on the Rangers’ 2 power plays. In the closing minute Ranger goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped Backstrom point blank. 1 zip Rangers in this crucial 5th game.

Reason to Watch: A few weeks ago, this matchup looked like the national championship. Maryland lost in the ACC tournament, and Cornell was upset in the Ivy League tournament. From a quality standpoint, this is as good as it gets in the first round.
Background checks: Maryland has lost in back-to-back national championships. The Terps tore it up in February and March but cooled off in April. Cornell has lost three one-goal games. The Big Red is a top-five team … Read More »
There’s been enough said about the playoff history of the Washington Capitals. But I do believe this team is different—maybe. The Caps won the division and thus earned the home playoff advantage. Game 5 tonight hopefully will create a result that takes advantage of the home edge. Ovie and Rebeir0 were somewhat quiet in New York although 3 goals should always be enough to win a playoff game. I look for that to change tonight. Both have been spectacular at … Read More »
#8 Alex Len
Height: 7-1 | Weight: 225 | Sophomore
Maryland | Center
Len is a big, traditional center who can score in the paint or step outside and hit a jumper. He’s still a work in progress; he needs guards who can get him the ball in the right position to score. But he moves very well for his size and is a good rebounder and shot-blocker. Some scouts compare him to a young … Read More »
