I have been looking forward to this doubleheader all week and journeyed down to DC as a paying customer. But I have to admit, the 2 games were absolute jokes and embarrassments for the U and IU.  They were not ready for prime time.

The fourth-seeded Maryland women’s basketball team (26-7) will take on top-seeded Connecticut (31-4) Saturday at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the Bridgeport, Conn. regional semifinal at Webster Bank Arena.

The Terps-Huskies matchup will be shown on ESPN and ESPN3. The winner of the matchup will take on either second-seeded Kentucky (29-5) or sixth-seeded Delaware (32-3) Monday evening. The Blue Hens and the Wildcats will meet at noon Saturday. Tickets for Saturday’s games are sold out.
