As Tillman said today at his weekly press Conference, how could Loyola who won its 1st game last weekend drop from #1? We will learn a lot more saturday in this early season marquis matchup at Ridley Field in Baltimore. This hopefully could be the start of a yearly battle between 2 of the giants of the sport.
( from today’s Sun)
“Tillman said the university is open to perhaps resuming the series on an annual basis. It’s certainly something we’ll … Read More »
I have been staring at the computer wondering what to say. It’s 12:15, the game has been over for an hour and I still don’t know what to say. Here goes:
The second the fans stormed the court on Saturday, my thoughts went to a possible Chesnut Hill disaster on Tuesday. Why? The Silvio O Conte arena and BC is just a terrible home for college basketball. I went there 2 years ago on a Saturday afternoon and my guess … Read More »
With the passing of Dr. Jerry Buss on Monday night, one can only reflect favorably and marvel in hindsight upon how this real-estate businessman transformed the Los Angeles Lakers into one of the largest sports brands in the world over the course of 30 years.
In the 31 years prior to Dr. Buss acquiring the franchise (along with the NHL’s Kings and The Forum) in 1979 for what was then a record-setting amount of $20 million, the Lakers enjoyed … Read More »
Now that Terp Nation had arisen and realizes that maybe, just maybe Maryland could be on a run to the dance, it’s time to believe that tonight we face a must win situation at BC. The Terps are 6-6 in conference play with 6 games left, 4 of which are on the road. Because of the weak non conference schedule, one would think the Terps must finish 10-8 in Conference to even have a chance of securing the ticket. Hoping … Read More »
Being that I have lived in Owings Mills for decades, yes I am proud that Maryland has landed such a fine kid and stellar athlete. Here is a quote from Jared from terrapin times.com: “I’ve always been high on Maryland; they were the school I grew up watching,” said Cohen, who became Maryland’s first class of 2014 recruit on Feb. 19. “And, really, there’s not one bad thing I can say about the University of Maryland. It’s a great school all … Read More »
Coach Turgeon said we welcome him back with open arms.
TORONTO — The first thing you’ll notice about Greivis Vasquez is he’s a competitor. You can see it. Watch his face when he plays, how he talks to hisNew Orleans Hornets teammates, how he celebrates wins. He’s fiery, he’s emotional and you don’t forget he’s on the court.
“I want to show guys that I’m here fighting and we gotta fight to win games,” Vasquez said before facing the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. “And that’s just basketball. You’ve got to fight, you’ve … Read More »
Randy continues to expand the Baltimore market
Just a few items after the post game mortems from down South:
All of a sudden we are dodging the sour grapes thrown at us from Durham. Three games in 6 days. Poor Mason Plumlee was tired. Maryland either made a basket or received free throws down the wire. Are you kidding me?
Mason Plumlee tired? No other big men because of Kelly’s injury. Coach K, Turgeon just beat you without a point guard. Turgeon’s team just beat you with … Read More »
