Two of Vasquez’ workouts, with Cleveland and the Wizards went well but he has not climbed to the top tier status that will have him sign with an agent. He has until June 15 to make up his mind.
Just when we had written off Lance Stephenson from the Maryland picture, his Dad announces in USA Today that the choice for his son is down to Maryland and Arizona. This is after the Terps had been written off weeks ago with Adam Zagoria saying his sources said Gary’s system was too rigid for Born Ready. I said that was hogwash then and I stand by it now. While it might be true that maybe Lance wanted Kansas or Kentucky … Read More »

Ernei Grunfeld GM of the Wizards has always had a soft spot for ex Terrapin basketball players. Juan Dixon, Steve Blake, Lonnie Baxter have all made their way through the Balto DC area. This is why it came of no surprise to me when I was told that Greivis would be in for a workout Tuesday morning at 11AM. . Remember Greivis has not hired an agent yet so he is still eligible to return to the university. Whatever happens, … Read More »

Next year Villanova will probably be a top ten preseason ranked team. Now they will be Maryland’s opponent at the BB&T Classic. Two kids from Montrose are going to Nova next year, Isiah Armwood and Mouphtaou Yarou. The Terps also added a road game at UNC Greensboro. Again Gary realizes the importance of taking on all comers when it comes to NCAA selection.
It’s funny when the season ended, the early word was that Greivis was 95% certain not to be coming back to Maryland. Things change!! According to a terrapintimes.com interview with Coach Williams, the maryland guard would need to be in the top 20 of players selected in the draft, an unlikely scenario. “I think from everything I have seen so far, not that he isn’t good enough to play in the NBA, but I think that if Greivis does come … Read More »
Straight from terrapintimes.com comes the news that the timetable for DeShawn Painter’s decision has been moved up to tonight. Could this be good news for the Terps as Painter just completed his official visit to Maryland last weekend? I will post his decision as soon as I find out. Remember Painter is a 6’9″ Power Forward eligible for the 2009 class.
