17 turnovers , poor shooting selection and foul line problems did the Terps in tonight. But there was something about this team down the wire that changed. Turgeon worked as hard as any coach I have ever seen trying to turn this team around and in many ways he succeeded. But the sloppy play did us in again.

If this was his final game as a Terp, Alex Len certainly went out in a blaze of glory. 16 points, 9 … Read More »

The University of Maryland men’s basketball team will face the University of Connecticut in its 2013-14 season opener on Nov. 8 in Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. It will be the first meeting between the schools since March 24, 2002, when the Terrapins defeated the Huskies 90-82 in the NCAA East Regional on the way to their first national championship. UConn holds a 3-2 edge all-time in the series.“We’re looking forward to returning to Barclays Center to play a quality opponent … Read More »

“I’m really happy to be here. I’ve got a lot of respect for these guys and their programs and what they’ve done. Scott and I used to go head-to-head in the Big 12 and Dave and I have had some encounters in the NCAA Tournament and obviously Fran and I have something in the future we’ll be playing each other quite a bit in the future.

So, Coach Rose said how proud he was of his team, I’m unbelievably proud … Read More »

Without question  the best Terrapin Victory since Grievis’ last game at home. Turgeon had this team perfectly prepared and once again out coached the King of the Evil Empire into the ground. HATS OFF TO COACH TURGEON!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was submitting my vote for ALL ACC–I just could not leave out Dez Wells despite the Terps 8-10 record. Look we all saw it –there were games when he was fantastic. Minus his plethora of turnovers, he really was great all … Read More »

Wednesday night I commented to Coach Turgeon that the press was successful against Carolina, he then proceded to criticize the effectiveness of our press. I had a feeling that his answer was a disguise for the implementation of a more pressing type defense. Sunday night the press invigorated the entire squad early on and Maryland probably had it’s best half of the season, leading 32-19 at the break.  But that was that.

It was almost like we allowed UVA so … Read More »

Just a few thoughts after a tremendously disappointing night:

As to the charge of having too high expectations for this season, I guess I have to plead guilty. When it comes to most Terrapin sports, I am always the optimist. Before last night’s game hope was high for a 2 game conference ending sweep and becoming a virtual lock to getting an at large bid. When the Heels jumped out to a 12-6 lead, I felt we were in trouble. We … Read More »

It seems like a broken record but once again the Terrapins’ NCAA hopes are on the line tonight. The last time we played Carolina, the Terrapin guards were 3-23 from the field with 12 turnovers and 2 assists. Minus his 5 turnovers, Dez was sensational scoring 21 on 8-11 shooting. As bad as the guards played the Terps lost 62-52. This won’t happen at Comcast. A fired up Alex Len will put the Terps on his back . Maryland is … Read More »

Now that Terp Nation had arisen and realizes that maybe, just maybe Maryland could be on a run to the dance, it’s time to believe that tonight we face a must win situation at BC. The Terps are 6-6 in conference play with 6 games left, 4 of which are on the road. Because of the weak non conference schedule, one would think the Terps must finish 10-8 in Conference to even have a chance of securing the ticket. Hoping … Read More »

Most of the times when a team shoots 58% from the 3 point line, a victory awaits. Today was no exception. Using their “small” lineup the Hoos jsut got on top and never looked back.

Justin Anderson who decommitted from Maryland when Gary retired, got off to a strong first half start with but then wilted down the stretch finishing with 5-14 and 14 points. The culprit of the day was Joe Harris shooting 7-8 from the field for … Read More »

I was walking down Canal St looking for a place to eat when I remembered to check the Terps score on my Iphone. 59-32? At that point we wereshooting 70% or so. Hopefully this could be the start of a turnaround. Turgeon’s post game remarks:

“That was fun; we needed that and needed a win. I am proud of our guys. We talked about playing with energy, playing hard, and having fun. We put a lot more effort into us … Read More »
