17 turnovers , poor shooting selection and foul line problems did the Terps in tonight. But there was something about this team down the wire that changed. Turgeon worked as hard as any coach I have ever seen trying to turn this team around and in many ways he succeeded. But the sloppy play did us in again.

Wednesday night I commented to Coach Turgeon that the press was successful against Carolina, he then proceded to criticize the effectiveness of our press. I had a feeling that his answer was a disguise for the implementation of a more pressing type defense. Sunday night the press invigorated the entire squad early on and Maryland probably had it’s best half of the season, leading 32-19 at the break. But that was that.

It seems like a broken record but once again the Terrapins’ NCAA hopes are on the line tonight. The last time we played Carolina, the Terrapin guards were 3-23 from the field with 12 turnovers and 2 assists. Minus his 5 turnovers, Dez was sensational scoring 21 on 8-11 shooting. Now that Terp Nation had arisen and realizes that maybe, just maybe Maryland could be on a run to the dance, it’s time to believe that tonight we face a must win situation at BC. The Terps are 6-6 in conference play with 6 games left, 4 of which are on the road.
