Maryland head football coach Randy Edsall announced Thursday evening that seniors Quintin McCree and Ronnie Tyler have been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. “The expectation of our program is for our student-athletes to conduct themselves in the proper manner academically, athletically and socially,” Edsall said. “Unfortunately, Quintin and Ronnie fell short of these expectations.” There is no timetable for their reinstatement.
Bruce adds—This is a big loss. The 2 players combined for 13 catches against the U.

Gilman’s Cyrus Jones said he is “strongly considering Maryland. I like them a lot, so they are still going to get a run.”Jones said he liked the new uniforms, especially the helmets, “though everybody said the helmet was too much. I just like the whole idea of representing Maryland to the fullest. I thought they were a good design. I thought they were nice.”
Stefon has been a huge Florida—Miami lean but the events of the past week have him thinking about Maryland.

That was Athletic Director Kevin Anderson’s response when I asked about 2012. Of course he prefaced it by saying Maryland must keep winning. When I asked Kevin about dealing with the budget shortfall and it’s effect on keeping the 27 teams in tact—he responded that winning football and sellout crowds would go a long way to solving the problem.
Who said Randy Edsall could not create a buzz. The uniforms were still the topic as Randy appeared on ESPN’s Outside The Lines and several radio shows. Tonight at Tark’s, the Unis were the topic at almost every table. Maryland has placed 10 game jerseys and 10 helmets on it’s auction site. My prediction the #5 jersey (Danny O’Brien) will go for at least $2500.
First things first, I sent Coach Edsall a text stating that in the past decade, I can’t remember Byrd Stadium as electric as it was last night. To me it was incredible that 90% of the crowd stuck it out to the end.
