I guess the overall effect on the community at large ruled out the death penalty. One issue that needs to be cleared up is the lifting of the 85 max scholarship figure for the kids who wish to transfer. It should be a 1 year lifting due to the late time of the decision. In other words any Penn State player who wishes to transfer should not have his scholarship added to the number of scholarships the school has. PSU has … Read More »
Veteran goalie Kip Turner has been named the Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season as a result of shutting down the Machine’s offense on Saturday night in Delaware, OH. Turner earned Bud Light MVP honors for his performance while the Bayhawks (9-2) clinched their spot in the 2012 Major League Lacrosse playoffs in Boston this August. “Kip has made a tremendous impact to our team,” head coach Dave Cottle exclaimed. “He is an excellent clearer and he has been very … Read More »
Again–2 mistakes cost us the game. Chris Davis was unable to make a relatively routine play that led to 2 runs and Markakis ran through a stop sign to kill a rally by the O’s. As most teams were trying to pick up help for the pennant or wild card chase, the O’s so far have stood pat.
If KD slumps against Spain, France or Argentina, the USA might be upset. Spain could be a problem because of the lack of size to combat the Gasol brothers. The SA had 2 20 point leads in this game but could not put away a really mediocre team.
No death penalty? That’s the hammer but we shall see what happens Monday morning.
I think I finally realized NEVER and I mean NEVER 2nd guess Buck. This guy is one of a kind. He engineers the O’s through every inning of every game, winning game after game when you can feel the collapse coming. It’s fun to be an Oriole fan again.
All weekend all the commentators talked about was what an advantage it was for Adam Scott to have Stevie on his bag. You could have fooled me. After Adam Scott birdied the 14th hole, Stevie Williams and Scott started the victory celebration. What followed the next 4 holes was a collapse of epic proportions. 4 bogeys in 4 holes. Bye Bye Major. A collapse the Aussie might never recover from. Tiger’s triple bogey will be the hole remembered that did … Read More »
Maryland men’s lacrosse rising sophomore Charlie Raffa won 10 faceoffs to help propel the U.S. under-19 men’s national team to a Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) U19 World Championship on Saturday, with a 10-8 victory over Canada.
The win for the U.S. capped a comeback run through the tournament after dropping a pair of pool play games to the Iroquois and the Canadians one week ago.
Team USA dominated on faceoffs, winning 17-of-22 as a team with Tyler Barbarich winning seven … Read More »
Jim Thome delivered in a big way tonight. Trailing 1-0 in the 7th, Thome’s 2 run HR certainly was his biggest hit since joining the O’s. Chris Tillmangave the O’s a solid 6 1/3 inning performance. Tuesday night I was just about ready to throw in the towel but 4 straight road wins has returned optimism to Oriole nation.
Goalie Kip Turner and the defense were the story as the Chesapeake Bayhawks escaped with an 11-7 road victory over the Ohio Machine on Saturday night at Selby Stadium. Turner made 16 saves and got great support from his long poles as the Bayhawks held the Machine to two goals in the second half. Veteran midfielder Kyle Dixon recorded a game-high four points to lead the Bayhawks, who outscored the host Machine 7-3 in the second half to improve to 5-1 on the road this … Read More »
